Welcome to BATNIC |
Did you know that just one brown bat eats 3000-7000 insects nightly ! Hollywood myths
and superstition with a lack of understanding have done great harm to our
only flying mammal and beneficial insect eater. Bat populations have suffered due
to among others habitat loss and the use of insecticides. Protected in many
areas bats have a chance for a comeback. You can help by clicking on the links
below and by erecting bat houses which provide a seasonal roost/home for them.
Once attracted bats often return to the same bat house every year. They will
reward you by greatly reducing insects, providing (guano) bat excrement the
most potent natural fertilizer available and last but not least their amazing
flying capabilities which surely captivate. |
At BATNIC we are dedicated to helping save bats and to the science of bat house technology.
We utilize the latest information in bat roosting preferences and build
quality bat houses which will last for many years. Currently we only build/offer
bat houses for the locals (we don't ship). If you wish to purchase a quality
certified bat house we recommend: BCI ( Bat Conservation International ). We hope you enjoy our site and please help save our BATS! Thank you
for your interest. |
